Entries Open For Barnsley & Rotherham 2012 Business Awards

South Yorkshire companies now have the opportunity to bid for glory at a celebrated business awards ceremony, which will take place in the autumn.

The 2012 Barnsley & Rotherham Business Awards will honour the achievements of the region’s top firms, with the cream of the crop doing battle for 10 prestigious prizes - in addition to the much-coveted Business of the Year trophy. 
 
The Business of the Year will be an ‘overall winner’ chosen from the outstanding performers in the other award categories.
 
The event, held by the Chamber, will attract hundreds of guests keen to acknowledge the region’s businesses and vie for prizes to Rotherham’s Magna Centre on Friday 19 October. 

Entries are now being accepted in the following categories (visit the website to download the full award criteria Category Booklet):
 
- Most Promising Business Start-Up Award
- Business Growth Award
- Business Community Impact Award
- Excellence in Manufacturing Award
- Skills Development Award
- Innovation & Technology in Business Award
- Business Person of the Year Award
- The Environmental Business Award
- Excellence in Export Award
- Apprentice of the Year Award 
 
Andrew Denniff, Executive Director at Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, said: “The Business Awards ceremony gives companies a chance to be rightly recognised for their superb achievements. It is always inspiring to see and hear about their excellent accomplishments and see them rewarded for what they do so well.
 
“Entries are open to all Barnsley and Rotherham business and any other business who is a member of Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce.  The range of award categories caters for businesses of all sizes and sectors so businesses need to get their entries in and let us know great they are!”

The contribution of well-established companies to the business community will also be marked in the Salute to Business section of the ceremony. Businesses celebrating 50, 75 or 100 years’ trading in either Barnsley or Rotherham should e-mail lee.wilkinson@brchamber.co.uk.
