‘Come to meet us’ – Local Suppliers Networking Event

posted 11 Jun 2012, 05:38 by RiDO Rotherham   [ updated 14 Jun 2012, 01:31 ]
An invitation is going out to businesses across the Dearne Valley to come to meet contractors responsible for building the proposed new waste treatment facility at Bolton Road, Manvers, Rotherham.

The event is a chance to find out more factual information about the new site, learn about the process of tendering for future contracts and to talk directly to companies already involved in this major development.

The business networking event is to be held on Friday 22 June at the Dearne Valley Kingswood Centre, in Denaby Main, Doncaster, DN12 4EA. The event will run in two sessions from 9am - 11.30am and 12 noon - 2.30pm.

Shanks representatives will lead the event with partners Birse (construction), Celtic (civil engineers and AD Technology), Mansell (construction) and Ecodeco, who will install the MBT technology.   Each session will open with an introduction to the project, followed by one-to-one meetings between the companies and suppliers.  There will be further opportunities for informal networking with the project contractors.

Nigel Catling, Shanks’s Capital Delivery Director, said:
“This is a key opportunity for local suppliers to talk to the people in the lead agencies already involved in this important project’s development. We hope as many local suppliers as possible take the opportunity to find out more and come and talk to those directly involved. We can't guarantee work on the project, but at least you will learn what is required to get on preferred supplier lists for major project work, which can only prove of long-term benefit to your business."
