Bromley Technologies Ltd will be sharing some of the secrets of their international sporting success in a global web seminar later this month.

The web seminar in association with North American company Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq:MENT), will see Professor Kristan Bromley, CEO of Bromley Technologies illustrate how advanced engineering design and simulation software has helped the company become one of the world’s top suppliers of elite winter sports equipment to professional athletes.

Amongst the subjects to be covered by Bromley and Dr. Keith Hanna of Mentor Graphics is how the companies’ computational fluid dynamics (CFD) package, FloEFD, embedded within the Pro/ Engineer computer aided design (CAD) software process has helped Bromley Technologies, based at Rotherham’s Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP), to have a direct influence on the aerodynamic usability and reliability of their finished product.

Designing within the Pro/Engineer environment which Bromley was familiar with, and using FloEFD, dramatically shortened design lifecycles, thus enhancing their workflows leading to optimal, more robust, bobsled skeleton designs and all within extremely demanding competitive sporting timescales where the difference between winning and losing can be measured in fractions of a second or a few millimetres.

The presentation will demonstrate how Concurrent CFD fluid flow analysis can easily be used to simulate the design of a scanned elite athlete on a bobsled skeleton geometry, and then evaluate the aerodynamic results. Bromley’s technological vision for the Sochi 2014 Olympic cycle will be sketched out as well as opportunities in other sports.

The web seminar will take place at 7pm UK time on September 30th. Click here for more information.
